As I mentioned in my first blog, I was inspired to create this list by my best friend, Brett. Brett and I have known each other for almost 10 years after we met during a pre-Orientation program at Franklin & Marshall College. This was a very selective program that Brett was picked for after he submitted an application/resume/cover letter/the promise of his first unborn child. I was able to sneak my way into the program after I quit soccer during preseason and asked the Office of Residence Life not to kick me out of my residence hall....

He's the person who knows me better than anyone in the world and when he sent me information on the Day Zero Project, I immediately knew this was something we would be accomplishing together in a lot of ways.

I recently convinced him to FINISH his list *cough*slacker*cough* - and when he sent it to me, I was excited to read through his ideas. Anyone who knows us and our friendship should not be at all surprised that we had MANY of the same ideas on our respective lists. Although, I will begrudgingly admit that there were a few items he came up with that really got me jazzed and, thusly, I have decided to remove a few of my original conceptions with some of his oh-so-brilliant ones (which, of course means that I am forcing him to complete those tasks with ME).

Namely, I will be replacing #44: Help my parents clean their garage with Brett's idea to participate in an urban scavenger hunt! I will also swap #99: Visit the Eastern State Penitentiary with see a Philadelphia Union game.
If any of my [three] followers would like to check on Brett's progress - feel free to do so by clicking here.
Wait a second, it sounds as if you are swapping out the hard items for some easy fun ones. Could I be wrong?
ReplyDeleteOkay, let me go say "hi" to Brett. He'll be like, "who the hell is this guy?".
m.
In my defense, when I told my mom I was going to help them clean their garage she told me that my dad would freak out if I tried to do that. Apparently he likes a garage filled with beer and beach chairs rather than cars. As far as the Philly Union swap - I figure a soccer game is very similar to a Halloween adventure in a haunted prison!
ReplyDeleteI'll give Brett and heads up... ;)
